Samuel and Bethany Bridges moved from their home in South Carolina in August of 2022 and followed the call of God to help initiate a movement of discipleship and church planting in the Celtic Nations. Bethany, the daughter of missionaries, grew up in London, England. She is a 2009 graduate of Emmanuel University and is an experienced minister of the word. Samuel, from Greenville SC, surrendered to the call to preach the gospel at age 18 and graduated from the School of Christian Ministries at Emmanuel University in 2008. Together, they served for 12 years in various ministry and leadership roles including youth and children's ministries, outreach, Sunday School, writing discipleship curricula, teaching, and serving on various leadership teams for the regional Conference/Network called Spirit Life Ministries of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) in SC. Bethany also served as the Director of Girl's Ministries for Spirit Life Ministries and Samuel served on the Executive Council as Secretary-Treasurer. Samuel and Bethany served a local church for nearly 9 years where Samuel was the Lead Pastor. They led the church through a revitalisation process which included a relocation project and replanting with a new name and renewed mission. Bethany is a graduate of the Family Ministry Academy and serves on the support team of the London School of Ministry. Samuel has completed several training modules with Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI) and is an approved instructor. In early 2021 Samuel and Bethany were approved as missionaries and commissioned by the Executive Council of World Missions Ministries IPHC. They were first sent to Wales where they worked alongside ministry colleagues for almost 2 years. Samuel served for a year and a half as Director of the London School of Ministry (LSM). During that time LSM experienced growth in the number of students, new people were recruited to the leadership team, accreditation was reached through a strategic partnership and a second LSM site was opened in Bridgend, Wales. Samuel and Bethany felt God calling them to relocate to the northeast of Scotland and they moved to Aberdeenshire in August of 2024. Samuel is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Church Planting and Church Revitalisation from New Covenant International University and Seminary and he currently serves as an Advisor to the London School of Ministry leadership team as well as on the Advisory Board of the European Leadership Institute and Theological Seminary (ELITS).They have three wonderful children: Isaac, Philip and Lydia. The Bridges' greatest joy is seeing people receive Christ as their personal saviour and secondly, seeing believers surrender to their calling and empowered for their purpose. They believe that God is preparing Scotland for a great awakening and a life changing outpouring of the Holy Spirit. They are committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, planting life giving churches, raising up pioneering men and women and establishing ministry training centres. Samuel and Bethany are excited about the days ahead for the Arise Network in Scotland as many servant-leaders collaborate together for the glory of God.
